Reminder!

There is only one service on Sunday, Feb 6th at 10AM with Sunday School.

Our Annual Congregational Meeting following the service.

Don’t Forget to “Fall Back”!

Daylight Savings Time ends Sunday at 2AM.

Important Announcement!

In light of the governor’s shut down of Delaware County and the counsel of the Centers for Disease Control in response to the Covid-19 crisis, the session of Ridley Park Presbyterian Church has voted to cancel all activities held at the church, including worship services, until further notice. Please be in prayer with us for those who are struggling and those who are serving during this challenging time.

WORSHIP AND CHURCH ACTIVITIES AT RIDLEY PARK PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH HAVE BEEN CANCELLED FOR MARCH 15

A number of things have changed since yesterday’s announcement from RPPC that we would worship at our regular times tomorrow.

Since then, the governor has ordered a shut down in Delaware County and most local churches have decided not to hold worship services.

Your session has decided that RPPC will cancel worship services on March 15.

We will keep you updated on further schedule changes during the Covid-19 crisis.

Continue to keep each other in your prayers.

Please pass this information on to others who you think could possibly miss this announcement.

Thank you!

Announcement!

Dear Friends,

Many of you are probably wondering what precautions we are taking at Ridley Park Presbyterian Church to address the COVID-19 virus threat. Please know that your leadership has been prayerfully considering our response and will continue to do so. We will send emails and update our website and social media sites with updates when changes are made.

As of now, we will continue to meet for worship according to our regular schedule: 9am contemporary worship and Sunday School, and 11am traditional worship.

Our Nursery School, in keeping with Governor Wolf’s directive to school districts, will close for a period of 2 weeks. They anticipate re-opening on March 30.

The worship committee will meet next week and will discuss how to approach the Lord’s Supper. I expect that some changes will be made to communion scheduling and procedures.

Of course, it is very important that you remember not to shake hands with others. A friendly verbal greeting should be enough. Please wash your hands often and use hand sanitizer regularly.

We have decided not to pass plates to collect the offering. We will determine alternative means of collecting the offering before Sunday’s services.

While we are still planning to meet on our regular schedule, we ask that anyone who is sick should please stay home until you are feeling better. Also, those who have traveled to areas where known COVID-19 outbreaks have already occurred or believe there may be any possibility they may have been exposed to the virus please make sure to wait two symptom-free weeks before attending. We also realize that those who are in higher-risk categories may want to stay away from larger groups during this time. We want you to know that we understand and encourage you to do what you believe is best. However, we encourage you to stay in touch in other ways. Just because you cannot join us for worship, you should not feel disconnected from us. Let’s covenant together to check up on each other through texts, emails, and phone calls.

Don’t forget that sermon podcasts are available at https://podcast.rppcusa.org/ for those who are unable to attend worship.

Also, please remember to be in prayer throughout this challenging time. Please pray for those who are ill, for wisdom for leaders, for the medical community, and for minimal impact of the virus. I realize that many of us are concerned and even frightened by what is happening around us. Keep your relationship with God strong and you will not be overwhelmed.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6,7

Yours in Christ,

Pastor Jim
